Blue Marble Flower Nail Art Tutorial 7 204x300 INTERMEDIATE: Blue Marble Flower Nail Art TutorialINTERMEDIATE TUTORIAL:  BLUE MARBLE FLOWER NAIL ART – This manicure was inspired by Ophilie at Tartofraises. She said it would be easy for beginners so I figured, “I’ll give it a go!” Thank goodness for her video tutorial! It was most helpful. I’ve attached it to the bottom of this post.

As you can see by the title, it is NOT for beginners….intermediate—yes. I practiced on all 10 fingers before I removed my old manicure and on plastic before I felt I was ready. Although Ophilie says this is a quick manicure—it took me over an hour to do the manicure with only 4 accent nails—I was being careful! But I must admit….it turned out gorgeous!

I didn’t think I was going to like Nomadic In Nude by Color Club as the base, but I love it. Application was great although this one needed three coats to be completely opaque. ~Ana

STEP 1: Basecoat – to protect your nails and create a surface that nail polish bonds to. STEP 2. 2 or 3 coats of your favorite nude/tan polish STEP 3: While the last coat is still wet, add quite a bit more polish to make it thick. Do not let it dry. STEP 4: Quickly, make alternating lines in the corner with the brush of two blue polishes (or liner brush if it’s easier). I made 3 stripes that touch. You do not need to bother to make the stripes pretty. Get that polish down as quick as possible. STEP 5:  Using a silver glitter liner, draw lines in the pattern in 4 or 5 sections. Draw the lines from the middle of your nail to the edge slowly, with control. STEP 6: Using your two accent colors and a dotting tool, add small dots. STEP 7: With a dot of clear polish, add a 1mm rhinestone. STEP 8: Wait a few minutes for the polish to set before topcoating. STEP 9: Topcoat – To seal in your design and give it a high gloss shine. Remember to topcoat the free edge and underside. This extends wear and reduces water absorption, which causes peeling and chipping. TIP: Make sure you have your base polish on REALLY THICK, or else the marbling won’t work.
