SIMPLE TUTORIAL: TURQUOISE & BLACK DOTTED NAIL ART – I like dots because they are so easy to do with both hands. And I want you to feel successful when doing your own nail art. Remember, all designs look great in different color combinations.
Narita has created this fun and simple design. I’ve included her video tutorial, but frankly, I don’t like her technique. I’m going to give you instructions a little different than the way she does it in the video….Why? Because I can! And I want your design to be cleaner. Have Fun! ~Ana
PS – Narita didn’t watermark her image, so it’s all over the net uncredited. I’m privileged to put ownership where it belongs.
STEP 1: Basecoat – to protect your nails and create a surface that nail polish bonds to
STEP 2: 2 coats of your favorite turquoise cream polish
STEP 3: With dark color, paint top half of your nail. You may need two coats
STEP 4: With large dotting tool, make 3 or 4 black dots on the line where the two colors meet, just barely covering the black line
STEP 5: With small dotting tool, make several black dots near cuticle line
STEP 6: With small dotting tool, make turquoise dots on top of the black dots in the middle of your nail
STEP 7: Topcoat – To seal in your design and give it a high gloss shine. Seche Vite will give this type of shine. Remember to topcoat the free edge and underside. This extends wear and reduces water absorption, which causes peeling and chipping
TIP: If these colors aren’t your thing, try doing a medium shade and dark shade in the same color theme; like two blues or two pinks. Have fun. If you do this design, please post it on this my Facebook page!
