INTERMEDIATE TUTORIAL: DOTTED BLACK DIAGONAL FRENCH ON TURQUOISE NAIL ART
I’m not sure why I chose two turquoise designs in a row, but it’s a pretty color! And they’re both For Audrey by China Glaze! Leslie at
PolishArtAddiction has created this really popular design. You can find all of the
step-by-step photos on her website. I made this tutorial Intermediate because of the white stripe. Leslie uses a
striping brush that she has trimmed down to make the bristles thinner. Have Fun! ~Ana
Instructions
STEP 1: Basecoat – to protect your nails and create a surface that nail polish bonds to
STEP 2: 2 coats of your favorite turquoise polish
STEP 3: Paint a black diagonal
STEP 4: Put white polish on a palette. Drag a long striping brush through the white polish. Get the brush coated nicely with white. Starting on the side of the nail farthest away from you, lay the striping brush down where the turquoise and black meet. Roll your nail to paint the stripe.
STEP 5: With a large dotting tool, add white dots
STEP 6: Topcoat – To seal in your design and give it a high gloss shine. Remember to topcoat the free edge and underside. This extends wear and reduces water absorption, which causes peeling and chipping
TIP: To thin out a striping brush, hold the bristles straight up. Then with the blade of a pair of scissors, section one outside hair away from the rest. Trim single hair near the ferrule. Continue trimming around the outside one hair at a time until the brush is the thinness that you want.
